How We Pray
Introduction
Our prayer time is structured but Spirit-led. That means we have a structured format using the Four Parts of Prayer (see below) which the leader will guide us through, and we allow the Holy Spirit to guide those prayers. Before we begin, we will introduce ourselves and share our prayer requests, for our physical, spiritual, mental-emotional needs -- whatever you need, we want to seek the Lord with you. We pray for one person at a time so we can really focus on each person. All are welcome to pray out loud with us, and we encourage you to pray for yourself, but praying silently is perfectly fine, too. Whatever you are comfortable with. We are a safe haven where many people pray in a group for the first time. It's a wonderful atmosphere to learn and grow in prayer.
The Four Parts of Prayer
PRAISE & THANKSGIVING
Each week we focus on an attribute of God (such as, God is Faithful) and we read scripture about that attribute. Then we offer prayers of praise and thanksgiving. Praise is when we focus on WHO God is; Thanksgiving is when we focus on WHAT He has done. We do not make requests at this time. We focus entirely on God, not us.
CONFESSION
We will spend a few moments in silent confession.

"When we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9
REQUEST
We pray for each other, one at a time. The leader will guide us on who we are praying for. Everyone is welcome to pray for that person. We do not pray for anyone else until we feel all prayers for that person are exhausted. The leader will guide us on who to pray for next. Please follow these guidelines so we can focus our prayers on each person individually.
