"Prayer enlarges the heart until it is capable of containing God's gift of Himself." Mother Teresa in "No Greater Love".
When Jesus Christ came to earth as a human, He healed every sick person that came to Him (e.g., Matthew 4:23,24; MORE) by the authority that was given to Him (Mt 28:18; Jn 14:10; Acts 10:37,38). He then gave authority to His disciples to do the same (Luke 9:1,2; Mt 10:1; Mt 10:8; Mk 6:13; Lk 10:9; Jn 4:43-51; Acts 5:16; 9:34;19:12; 28:8,9). Those who believe in Jesus Christ today are His disciples (Mt 28:19) and have authority to heal by praying for the sick (James 5:14-17).
