WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT WORKING TOGETHER
With God:"Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." Matthew 18:19, 20
"Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." John 15:4,5 "[Jesus] said to her, 'Daughter your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering." Mark 5:34 Mary came into agreement with God's plan for her to give birth to His son, Jesus, despite the stigma that would accompany her pre-marital pregnancy. Her difficult choice established a partnership between heaven and earth. see Luke 1:31, 46-55 God gives eternal life when there is belief in Jesus. see John 3:16 God negotiated with one of his children, who petitioned on behalf of a city. see Genesis 18:16-33 God provided water for the people after Moses prayed and acted obediently by striking the rock with his staff. see Exodus 17: 1-17 God brought down the walls of Jericho after his servant Joshua obeyed his command to march around the city for 6 days. see Joshua 6 God brought forth rain after Elijah prayed. see 1 Kings 18:41-46 God restored a nation through the declarations of a prophet. see Ezekiel 37:1-14 God was unable to spare the people from judgment because no one prayed for his mercy. see Ezekiel 22:30, 31 |
With Each Other:"Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven." Matthew 18:19
"After this, the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go." Luke 10:1 "For we are co-workers in God's service." 1 Corinthians 3:9a "Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 "As iron sharpens irons, so one person sharpens another." Proverbs 27:17 "Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work." Ephesians 4:15, 16 Just as the human body is made up of many different parts, each with a vital function, so it is with the body of Christ, the church. Every denomination and believer in the Christian church has a vital function. In order for the church to be healthy, mature, and fully functioning, every individual must operate according to their unique gifting in harmony with all others. This is true for individual churches, as well as for the Christian church as a whole. see 1 Corinthians 12:12-31, Ephesians 4:1-16 |
