HIS FACE IN MY JOURNEY
Grace
”My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness”.
2 Corinthians 12:9
One day during chemotherapy, I was sitting in church, just minding my own business. I felt like a
blob of gelatin. (Chemotherapy does that; it sucks the life right out of you.) Out of the blue, I heard
God speak to me (John 8:47; John 10:4, 27). It was through a scripture, a rhema word, just for me: "My
grace is sufficient for you; my power is made perfect in weakness".
As soon as I heard it, I knew exactly what God was saying to me. I had become extremely weak from the
chemo, but I had been trying with all of my might to fight the weakness. I desperately wanted to be strong.
But, it wasn’t working, and I ended up depressed.
What God showed me in that moment was that He did not want me to fight the weakness! He wanted me weak!
He was humbling me and emptying me of myself.
Once I realized what God was doing, I was able to agree with Him and cooperate.
From that point on, I began the next phase of my journey. God began to do an amazing
work of healing in me. Not only physical healing, but emotional and spiritual. It was the most
intimate time I have ever experienced with my Lord. And it resulted in incredible breakthroughs that
have changed my life. As I confronted my pride and repented of it, His power was released in me, and healing came.
