Scripture does not ask, "How could God allow evil?" Rather, the question on the minds of the biblical authors is "What's God going to do about it?" -Mike McKinniss, M.Div., "A Year of Following Jesus - Redemption's Story"
At ACTIVATE THE CURE, we do not focus on questions of "Why" or "How" -- Why does cancer happen to some people? How could a loving God allow cancer to tyrannize His creation? Wrestling with such questions is not a bad thing - it can draw us closer to God and yield a stronger, more genuine faith; but because such questions are unlikely to be answered this side of heaven, we have made the decision to set them aside for now and, instead, ask our heavenly Father, "What are You going to do about cancer?"
God is a loving and merciful God, not to mention a masterful creator; For, He made the heavens and the earth and everything in it -- including science and medicine! There is no limit to God's creative power, wisdom, revelation and understanding. All things are possible with God (Matthew 19:26; Ephesians 3:20). This means the cure for cancer is not beyond Him. This means that as believers in God's love, mercy and infinite power, the cure for cancer is within our reach. And we are not alone in our thinking. In his book "The Death of Cancer", Dr. Vincent T. DeVita, Jr., an oncologist and professor at the Yale School of Medicine, expresses his belief that we can win the war on cancer. We agree with Dr. DeVita, and we are praying for him and other cancer researchers like him..
